Nestled amongst sprawling wildlife sanctuaries and overlooking beautiful Estero Bay, Bonita Springs is aptly named. A short drive down Bonita Beach Road and you’ll hit the sandy shores of Bonita Beach Park and neighboring Bonita Beach, which offers stunning views of the Gulf on one side and the bay on the other.
Well before Ponce de Leon ever set foot on its shore, the beautiful beaches and estuaries surrounding Bonita Springs were occupied by the Native Calusa. While the area was inhabited by various peoples over the years, it wasn’t until the early 20th century that the population increased enough to qualify the area as a village. Today, Bonita Springs is home to nearly 56,000 residents. The city’s convenient location is a particular draw. Bonita Springs is thirty minutes from Naples, 40 minutes from Fort Myers, and just under 50 minutes from Sanibel.
While Bonita Springs features a charming (and historic!) downtown area, a good deal of the city is residential. Home types and styles run the gamut from condos to single-family homes, from Spanish and Mediterranean style builds to more traditional-style ranches.
The city is home to a notable work-from-home population (nearly 9%!) And with a setting like Bonita Springs, who could blame them?
